JoLe Restaurant Opens in Calistoga, California

JoLe Restaurant, (pronounced Joe-Lee), is now open in Calistoga, the quaint wine country town at the north end of the Napa Valley.

Opened by husband-and-wife team Matthew and Sonjia Spector, JoLe serves contemporary American dishes made with fresh, seasonal, often locally-sourced and organic ingredients.

The menu at JoLe Restaurant reflects the Spectors' "Farm to Table" philosophy and will feature a revolving variety of interesting soups, salads, noodles and grains, seafood, meat entrees and desserts. Dishes are smaller than a typical entrée to give customers the opportunity to try a variety of menu items.

Prices range from $8 to $20 and include choices like Chilled Sweet Pea Soup with Warm Butter Poached Lobster. Vegetable dishes may include Beets and Greens with Goat Cheese Cream and a Pistachio Vinaigrette. Meatier dishes include Spiced Duck Breast with mushroom and sweet potato hash, topped with a blueberry ginger sauce or classic Steak Frites with Parmesan truffle fries.

Sonjia is the resident pastry chef whose sweet creations are nostalgic with a modern twist. The ever-changing dessert menu may include her Dulce de Leche Pudding with caramelized bananas and a crunchy phyllo crust, or a Bittersweet Chocolate and Coffee Ice Cream Sandwich.

The wine list includes a selection of California wines with a focus on small producers, but will also include wines from around the globe.

JoLe Restaurant is located at 1457 Lincoln Avenue, inside the Mount View Hotel on the main street of downtown Calistoga. The restaurant is open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. (until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday). Lunch hours will soon be added. Reservations can be made at www.jolerestaurant.com, at www.OpenTable.com or by calling 707-942-5938.
